Thank you everyone who came out to support the Poketo Karaoke Dance Party! We had a giant turnout and filled Royal/T to the brim. I had an amazing time and was seriously impressed by the high caliber vocal stylings! A few stellar performers deserve props: the musical theater girls in the sequin dresses, Jessica for her bootylicious dance moves, Guinevere with the amazing voice, Bobby who won karaoke competition with his soulful rendition of Ella Fitzgerald’s “Summertime.” Karaokers sang everything from J.J. Fad to Rent and there was dancing! Plenty of dancing! I did especially enjoy Ted and Angie’s Bizarre Love Triangle. However, I was bummed that Angie didn’t show off her amazing Roger Rabbit. And I had far too much fun singing Buffalo Stance by Neneh Cherry, which is like my fave karaoke song of the moment.

Was so happy to see friends such as Kozyndan, Jonathan and Meg Wells of Flux, Laura Darlington of The Long Lost, Annabel and Scott Spatola of Meatbun, Robin Hunicke of That Game Company, and a host of other cool peeps. An old high school friend who lives in Bombay even showed up, as well as my Lunch co-workers, my extended family, their friends…the list goes on! Poketo / Angie + Ted and Karaoke Domination know how to rock the house!

It was also super fun to meet other karaoke fanatics and fans of Hit Me With Your Best Shot. I was doing book signings to help launch the pretty hot looking karaoke cat T-shirt. It was all going great until I spilled my champagne rose all over my stuff. Maybe I had one too many Poketo soju cocktails. Or maybe my crazy drunk cousin Lijay pushed me into the champagne. If you ran into a bubbly red-faced Asian dude who either hit on or head-butted you, I apologize.
